after being forced out of "family-friendly" SFW places, i was searching for a place to stay and share - for a looong time. and... there were mistakes.
sometimes i was trying to fit into SFW places, to strip myself and my creations from everything "mature", which includes not only sexual themes, but also gore and mental health issues. not saying that Fediverse isn't good, but it wasn't a place for me due to the nature of decentralization - even if i write about my mental health on dedicated welcoming server, i still should put 999 CWs, because people from other servers would find it too heavy. this way my accounts just looked like a fully censored posts wall... and i hate it, to be honest. i hate hiding myself.
sometimes i was trying to fit into NSFW-dedicated places only to find out about just how poor moderation is.
sometimes there were other, more common problems, like "microblogging" format overall, unstable platform maintaining, concerns about AI, too unusable from mobile, etc.
having a website is liberating, and i see it as a home for my creations, but i'm not against social web! in fact, i love feedback and connection, and sometimes i just don't have an energy to code everything at once.
so far i have a few favorite places (outside of website): pillowfort and toyhouse. i feel like sheezy.art could become one of the favorites. will see!~
